Of connecting with the dead, alive and fictional!

The following post has been written for the Indiblogger - WeChat with Anyone, Anywhere Contest. WeChat is a new way to connect.

Every person in the world can teach you some thing. All you ever need is to have a right perspective and an ability to learn and listen. But some people who inspire us, whom we adore, or even whom we detest are just out of our reach sometimes for the simple facts that they be dead, alive and unreachable or fictional. We feel like talking to them, discussing various things with them but we just can’t. So when Indiblogger came up with the WeChat with Anyone, Anywhere contest where it was told to everybody to blog about any five people one would want to get connected with in a WeChat group and have a chat, it was an opportunity for me to do what I always wanted to do, talk about people who for some reason always gave me an urge to talk to them and get in touch with them. There are a number of people with whom I would love to get connected and have a chat. But, in a task which was very tough for me, I've shortlisted five people.

1.      Joe DiMaggio - Love is a strange feeling and no matter how much you try to understand it, you still can never understand it. But some people make it seem so simple and such an example I find it in Joe DiMaggio. Joe was an American Major League Baseball center fielder who played for the New York Yankees and is perhaps

best known for his
56-game hitting streak, a record which still stands. But he’s also known for one more thing – for being Marilyn Monroe’s second husband. Both of them got married in 1954, but the marriage didn't work out. Marilyn died in 1962. Joe took care of the funeral arrangements and Monroe was interred in a crypt at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles. For the next twenty years, red roses were placed in a vase attached to the crypt, courtesy of DiMaggio. For a marriage which lasted not even for a year, the kind of attachment which visibly Joe had for Monroe is astonishing. Given a chance to connect with Joe through WeChat which is the new way to connect, I would like to discuss and learn from him the virtue of forgiveness, selfless love and yes, I would love to know about the life of the stunning Marilyn Monroe!

2.     My grandfather – Being a grandson who grew without a grandfather, I always imagined the kind of things my grandfather would have taught and told me if he was alive. He died in 1982 and I was born in 1987. I never saw and met him in person, but the kind of things I have heard from my father about him always made me very curious about his life. My grandfather was a film distributor in the 70’s and he owned a movie theater in a small town of Kalmeshwar. The fifth birthday party pictures of my father shows film personalities like Asrani and Daisy Irani and a simple yet royal bash. My father tells me that when Sholay was released in 1975, the kind of excitement they saw in the movie buffs was very amazing. People from adjacent villages used to specially come to Kalmeshwar to see the movie which ran for twenty five weeks straight. Given a chance to connect with my grandfather through WeChat, I would love to know the kind of experiences he had during the 70’s when it came to film distributing, movie buffs and the way it has changed as compared to today. Also, what fascinates me is kind of upbringing he gave to his kids. My father is a very simple man who has seen all shades of life and after my grandfather’s death took care of his family in a very good way. If it wasn't for my grandfather’s beautiful upbringing which was tough yet taught of human emotions, it won’t have been possible. I wish I could connect with him so that I could learn about his experiences about life first hand which would have surely made my life a little more worthy!

3.     Amitabh Bachchan – The man needs no introduction and he never will need one. Amitabh Bachchan at 70 is doing almost everything a person can. He’s acting, endorsing, enjoying being a grandfather, keeping in touch with his fans through social networking and also maintains a blog! From the angry young man of the 70’s to the mature man in the recent times, he’s someone who has enjoyed an iconic status in the
The man who needs no introduction!
Indian Film Industry over the years. But has life always been simple for this formidable super star? He auditioned for the All India Radio before he started acting in films where he was rejected. Amitabh Bachchan ruled the screen throughout the 70’s and 80’s but the 90’s saw a downfall in his success, to the extent that it was reported that he was on the verge of bankruptcy. Then happened one of the most successful television shows in India – Kaun Banega Crorepati which brought him back in the game and he never looked back after that. A star as big as him saw defeat at one stage, but stood to his ground, fought the circumstances and emerged victorious. But in spite of all the success, he has always had his head on the shoulders. Success never got into his head and he stayed the same humble Amitabh he always has been. If I could connect with him through WeChat, I would love to know from him, what kept him going in tough situations and how did he manage to be a simple and humble person in spite of being the biggest star of Indian Cinema!

4.     Don Vito Corleone – Marlon Brando’s husky voice, powerful aura and his cold yet impactful dialogue delivery made Hollywood movie, Godfather what it is - a classic. I've seen the movie at least 30 times and yet it makes me fall in love with it every time, for the character of Don Vito Corleone is simply unnerving. The man is soft spoken

yet brutal, cherishes his family yet knows how to be tough with his kids. While he tells his son
Michael, ‘A man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man’, he also tells him ‘to keep his friends close and enemies closer!’ This Italian Mafia as a whole is someone you can’t resist and you feel like talking to him at least once. Given a chance I would love to get connected with him through WeChat and know about the emergence of mafia from Sicily, his own story and how he managed to be a fearing yet a very humble man! Who knows, even I may get an offer I can’t refuse!

5.     S Sreesanth – S Sreesanth has always been an aggressive cricket player but everybody saw his emotional side when he was allegedly slapped by Harbhajan Singh during an IPL match during 2008 which was a big controversy during his career. Overshadowing this was the spot fixing scandal which put him in the lime light in 2013. He was accused of fixing and taken in custody. While he may have made it out

on bail, but one cannot deny that there’s no fire without smoke. If I get to chance to interact to this cricketer via WeChat, I would ask him, was money bigger than the love of billions? We all know with IPL, handsome match fees during international and national matches and endorsements, cricketers today earn good. Was it not enough? If not, what will be enough? Is there an end to this greed? I would like to tell him that he has not only disgraced the game but has betrayed all the cricket fans who trusted his ability and supported him. Greed leads to destruction in the end, that I would like to learn from him. And if he feels guilty, I would like to tell him that mistakes happen, but it’s important to accept them and make amends instead of shying away from the responsibility!

The Life of you - Real Beauty!

When you're born - Some evil people try to kill you and most of them think of you as a Goddess. But still you're the selfless one who lightens up the house with a innocent godly smile on your birth.

When you grow up a little bit, you always mature faster than your age because your heart is the place which beats for everybody - irrespective of the fact if anybody thinks of you or not. Your undying love always brings a smile in the bad times.

When you’re a sister to a brother, you hide his faults. You’re his biggest support without expecting the same from him.

When you mature into a beautiful young girl, you fall in love and fight with almost everything and everyone for the one you love - In spite of knowing that he may not do the same for you.

When you get married, you leave a house which has been your home for so many years for a house which is a complete stranger to you. But you accept it, realizing it's only you who can convert a material house into a loving home.

When you give birth, you do something which no other living being can do - You create and that creation becomes your most loved possession. You go through all the pain because you know He's up there, you're down here having the power to create.

When you're living a married life your husband becomes everything for you and so many times you bury yourself respect knowing its wrong but you do it for the sake of togetherness and peace.

When enjoying the fruits of your motherhood, you teach love, patience and everything which can be taught only by you. You act as a shield for your little cubs and protect them from all the evils. You make sure they never make any sacrifice the way you do.

When you marry off your kids, you treat them by buying everything from what you've saved by denying yourself of many small little pleasures you could've had.

When your fruits bore their fruits, you become what you’re best at again, the cultivator of your little grand fruits. The life cycle starts again for you and you do it all again with the grace which you’re blessed with to shower.

The biggest thing you do is when you’re born with a different name and you live your whole life with another one, dedicating your life to someone to make his life worthy!

So many facets to you – a daughter, a sister, a girlfriend, a wife, a grandmother. Still you’re judged on the basis of all the material things which define beauty. Your sacrifices, your love, your patience, your perseverance, your kindness is what beauty is!

Real beauty is you and so is in every role that you play and every moment you’re into! All you spread is love whole of your life.
It’s your whole life which is the real beauty and you certainly can put this beauty into a man’s life. No wonder they say, ‘Behind every successful man, there’s a woman!’

No matter what magic one sees, nothing is as magical and beautiful as The Life of a Woman!

This is my entry for the Dove and Yahoo! Real beauty contest on Indiblogger and also a heartfelt thanks to all the beautiful women in my life. Without you, there’s no me!

Take care :)

Regards,

Amar:)

The Life of a woman!

Beauty is more often treated as something which is related to physical aspect of a person. For me real beauty is in that every moment which involves a woman because she was, she is and she will always be the reason for our existence and our lives. Every women in this world lives with a beauty her entire life, however neither does she nor anybody else realizes it. In short the life of a women is what real beauty is!

Real beauty is that moment when a little cute girl wearing a pink frock calls her daddy out in the most adorable way possible. It's that moment when that little girl wants to get wet in the rain and her mother goes with her in spite of having some temperature.

Real beauty is that moment when that little one grows up a little and when her elder brother is busy playing cricket with his friends, she's busy looking after her father when he's ill. That care is her beauty.

Real beauty is when a girl falls in love and unlike any other living devotes herself completely to just one person. That loyalty is her beauty which nobody else can possess. It's also when a girl in love blushes her heart out just on the mention of that special someone's name. That giggle, that killing look when she hides her face with her hair is the beauty.

Real beauty is that moment when this darling daughter bring accolades to her family by climbing the peaks of her career. It's that moment when she manages to be modest and dedicates all her success to her family.

Real beauty is that moment when the girl gets married and all eyes are on her. That moment when she leaves her house to lighten up a new house. It's also that moment when she wrecks her dream marriage gathering all her strength when she realizes her parents are being tortured for dowry.

Real beauty is when she treats her in-laws the same way she always treated her parents even when they don't do the same. It's that moment when she saves her dying husband by being by her side and caring for her like nobody else can.

Real beauty is when she gives birth to a new born by keeping him/her in her for 9 months, the world is sad when someone dies but only she has the power to create a human. It's that moment when she holds the new born for the first time in her hands, her own creation. Real beauty is that moment when she helps her child grow by feeding her own milk.

Real beauty is when she stays back at home and avoids a holiday because her child is not well. It’s that moment when she grabs her child close to her chest when her child is scared. It’s that moment when she makes sure that her children are never devoid of anything they want no matter what.

Real beauty is that moment when she fights with her husband for the sake of her child. It’s that moment when she stands in the way to protect her child from every body in the whole world.

Real beauty are those morals she instills in the child which only a mother can do. She forgets about her own life and lives for the child doing hundreds of silent sacrifices.

Real beauty is when she’s getting older day by day but still makes sure that her daughter looks the best. It’s when she makes sure that her son gets to choose a career he wants.

Real beauty is when celebrates her 25th marriage anniversary with her husband but still feels the same she felt 25 years back and gets ready for her husband even after so many years.

Real beauty is when her children get married and she doesn’t even get the time to sleep because she has to make sure that whatever she missed on her marriage, her children don’t miss that!

Real beauty is when she turns a grandmother and in turn a mother again and starts living her life cycle all over again for her grand children.

My mother once told me, “ A woman firstly, lives for her parents, then for her husband and then entirely for her children.” Her life is full of sacrifices and in turn she never even expects any appreciation. This silent miracle between us is a mother, a sister , a wife , girl friend , an aunt , a grandmother. By whatever name you call her out, the truth is she is everything that you always need in your life. It’s her inner strength that keeps us going. It’s her selfless dedication towards the people she’s attached to which makes everybody else’ life so beautiful. She’s able to do that because she’s the real beauty.

Truly, whoever describes beauty by a physical attribute of a woman seldom realises that – It is the whole life of a woman which is the real beauty!

This post is dedicated to all the beautiful women in my life – My mother , My sister , The girl I love, My grandmother and every woman who made my life worthy is some or the other way!

" It fades the magic of the rising sun,
Enchanting is the life of a woman!"
